About The Farm

new_creation_farmThe Fruit Farm at Heyford Hills in Nether Heyford was established in the late 1940’s by Mr. Alex Beck, a former First World War fighter pilot. Although Northamptonshire is not renowned for commercial fruit growing, it is known that a large orchard did exist on the gentle slope between the Heyford Hills farmhouse and the LMS railway line in the years before the Second World War.

Mr. beck planted two separate gooseberry and blackcurrant areas, one of which was subsequently destroyed by fire, to be replaced by Victoria plums and then by Bramley cooking apples. His main orchard contained 10 acres of dessert apples, mostly Cox’s Orange Pippins with 2 other varieties, which was later underplanted with gooseberry bushes.

During each of the 26 years that followed a generation of Nether Heyford mums and children picked Mr. Beck’s soft fruit, providing a welcome top-up to their summer spending money.

At the end of 1975 the farm was sold to its’ present owners, House of Goodness Ltd (a company owned by the members of the (New Creation Christian Community) and renamed New Creation Farm.

In greatly expanding the range of fruit types grown at the farm, the present management has tried to include the best of the popular new introductions as well as a number of sought after traditional old  varieties.
